Bottom line: The Wolves baseball team held their season opening game on Wednesday Feb. 19, going head-on against the Eagle Rock Eagles, their first game of the season didn’t go as planned with the Wolves losing 0-2.
Highlights |
- Pitcher, third baseman and senior Joaquin Boche started on the mound, pitching five innings with seven total strikeouts against the eagles
- Throughout the entirety of the game, the Wolves were only able to get two hits, one by senior pitcher and shortstop Joel Enciso and the other by freshman shortstop and Enzo Enciso
- Catcher and senior Nate Renard led the team in stolen bases, with stealing four on the eagles
- Renard also led the team in nine total putouts, this is when a fielder physically records the act of completing an out
- Joel Enciso closed off the game for Boche by pitching the last two innings with a total of two strikeouts
What’s next | The Wolves baseball team’s next game is a home game against the Reseda Regents on Monday, Feb 24.

Team Thoughts | “The game was good but it just wasn’t the result we wanted,” Boche said. “They just did the little things right that we didn’t and it showed in the score. No one said playing the defending champs was going to be easy so we’re going to bounce back and give y’all some wins”
Our Thoughts | This was a hard fought game by the Wolves but they unfortunately came up short when it came to offence. With the Eagles being a team that has won championships in the past the Wolves definitely kept them on their toes.
