The bottom line | The girls varsity volleyball team declared victory against the Thomas Jefferson High School Democrats on Monday, Oct. 28, winning with a score of 3-0. Allowing for the team to proceed in the playoffs.

Camila Santiago saves the ball by receiving the opponents spike.

Pre-game thoughts | “This is the first time in two years that we’ve made playoffs, it’s exciting,”  senior division specialist Karen Tenas (#4) said. “I have confidence in our team that we will win this first game.”

Highlights |

  • Sophomore outside hitter Lauren Renard (#27) showed off her amazing defense by going out of bonds to save the ball from hitting the floor
  • Senior outside and opposite hitter Samantha Sirichai (#8) hits multiple kill shots against the Democrats, resulting in them hesitating to receive it

  • Senior setter Renisha Patel (#9) pulled a surprising move in the first set, unexpectedly setting the ball backwards which gave the wolves another point

What’s next | Our girls volleyball team has been eliminated from playoffs as they lost their most recent game. This puts an end to the girls volleyball season.

Team thoughts | “We gave it our all and won in three sets,” Captain Sirichai said.

“I think that we performed pretty well, but for our next playoff game we will definitely improve.”

Our thoughts | These Lady Wolves effortlessly took the win this Monday and share a high hope to keep winning in the play off games to have a chance of getting a championship win.
