The Renaissance Era is over for Beyonce but, as of April 28, 2025 at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California she brought a new tour to town, The Cowboy Carter Tour.
For many, this tour was incredible, Beyonce went all out with the set by not only performing songs from Cowboy Carter but catered to the true fans, singing songs she hasn’t sang in years such as, “If I Were a Boy” and “Single Ladies.”
She also brought back a portion from her previous tour, The Renaissance Tour.
With a set like that, many people were extremely satisfied with the show, including sophomore Madeline Mills, who attended the show on Thursday, May 8.
“The cowboy carter concert was a show like no other,” she said. “Every song was so well planned and it was such an incredible experience seeing people of all ages dancing and having a good time, very wholesome to see.”
Mills also talked about another aspect of the show, the showing of different movies in between each song.
“The part that I thought was really cool was that in between each “act” she had a movie projection that was playing little movies,” she said. “Some of them were very intricate while others were just nostalgic. A lot of them also paid tribute to other black artists in the music industry, which was really beautiful and a very special topic to recognize.”
Like Mills, many were amazed by Beyonce’s performance, especially when seeing the evolution of Beyonce’s daughter, Blue Ivy, dancing.
From back in the Renaissance Tour, it’s been a tradition for Blue Ivy to come and join her mom on stage for a couple songs and dance with the other dancers. However, back in the Renaissance tour, many people criticized blue ivy for “lackluster” dance moves. But this criticism, according to Teen Vogue, only fueled her to do better.
When she appeared for the Cowboy Carter Tour, many people online commended her for her improvements, noticing that she was more confident and nowhere near “lackluster.”
As much as people thought that this tour was an improvement in some areas, other were disappointed.
One of those disappointments being the seating.
A whole section of the seats was reportedly behind the stage, only being able to see the action via the screen within the stadiums.
The odd seating arrangements were explained by saying that because Beyonce moves around a lot and even floats above the crowd, it didn’t matter that you were behind that physical stage. Though, of course, many people were still angry.
An exclusive on the Daily Mail talked about how expensive the seats were only for them to be behind the stage and not even see what Beyonce was doing.
“Not only was there gigantic scaffolding in front of me blocking half the stage, right next to it was some kind of huge box-shaped structure with people on top that blocked another chunk of my view,” said J. Petterson of Daily Mail.
Many others faced this issue throughout the tour making this once in a lifetime experience sour.
However, some people’s seats were changed by TicketMaster, one of the tour ticket selling companies, due to these obstructions within the audience to hopefully give some others a better experience.
With her last tour in Los Angeles ending on May 9, 2025, the audience’s mixed reviews rose, leaving many to have to figure out their own opinion, for themselves.
