GIRLS BASKETBALL: Late rally was not enough, as turnovers cost Van Nuys a victory

Van Nuys took on Taft High School in a non-league match during Monday’s home game on Nov. 27.

Captain Mayln Osimore summarizes the performance: “Our team chemistry was amazing.” she said, “We definitely made a big improvement this year playing against them. “I can say that this was the closest game we’ve ever played with Taft. There are a couple things we need to tidy up but this by far has been the best game we have played so far this year.”

The Varsity Basketball team started the match out sluggish, getting themselves into a severe point deficit early on. However the Wolves displayed their perseverance and hard work, quickly gaining control of the game. With the team passing the ball smoothly around the perimeter it allowed the Wolves to rally back. Carrying their momentum into the fourth it would enter an environment of consistent plays to contribute to a potential comeback. However in the final minutes there would key turnovers and missed shots that allowed Chatsworth to come up on top.
