BOY’S VOLLEYBALL: Both Boy’s Varsity and JV volleyball teams defeat San Fernando in close matches

The Boy’s Varsity and JV Volleyball teams defeated the San Fernando Tigers after close matches on Wednesday, March 15.

Varsity won 3-0, and JV won 2-0.

The varsity team started off strong by winning the first set 25-18, and carrying that energy level into the second set, which they won 25-17.

However, a significant number of serving errors, incorrect ball placements and inaccurate attacks caused the Wolves to start the third set from behind. After correcting their mistakes, the Wolves pulled through the set 25-21, defeating the San Fernando Tigers 3-0.

“Yesterday’s game was all about ball handling and placement. It was a great way to try new things on the court,” Starting Libero Rudy Zafra said.

Varsity now advances to 2-1 in the league and 11-3 overall.

Captain John Galvan said, “An extraordinary game presented to our fans by both teams, we were just more determined to win. It’s a fight for league right now and we are motivated to achieve our goal.”

NEXT GAME: Van Nuys @ Kennedy on Monday, March 20 @ 4 p.m.
