The Boys Basketball Team made Van Nuys history with their first ever home state playoff match on Wednesday, Mar. 7.

The Wolves struggled offensively in the first quarter as Wiseburn Da Vinci High School disrupted the court’s rhythm. Both teams continued their offensive woes, resulting in a low scoring first quarter.

Van Nuys found their offensive rhythm from the second quarter onward as Tyree Winborn knocked down jumper after jumper. The Wolves added on to their lead when the team’s defense consistently forced their opponents to take tough shots. Bench contributions from Andy Sosa and Andrew De La Hoya in the fourth quarter allowed Van Nuys to advance to the second round.

“Four more games to go,” said Tyree Winborn.

Final Score: 74-39

NEXT GAME: Van Nuys @ Duarte on Saturday, Mar.10 at 6:00 pm.
