If the videogame, “Tomb Raider,” was a major part of your childhood, then get ready for the return of Lara Croft on the big screen.

“Tomb Raider” is an upcoming action-adventure film directed by Roar Uthaug, and it will premiere in theaters on Mar. 16.

Based on the iconic video game series, the movie’s plot revolves around Lara Croft, the daughter of an adventurer gone missing. Having the desire to uncover the mysteries that her father left behind, she must surpass her physical and mental limits when she journeys to the mythical island that marked his last known destination.

The movie features Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft, Hannah John-Kamen as Sophie, Walton Goggins as Mathias Vogel, Kristin Scott Thomas as Ana Miller, Dominic West as Lord Richard Croft, Daniel Wu as Lu Ren and Nick Frost as Max.

In the video game series, Lara Croft is a fictional character who travels around the world in search for mysterious treasures and artifacts that are associated with unknown entities. The character was previously portrayed by actress Angelina Jolie in “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider,” which received a rotten 47% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
